We are a group of people committed to improving the lives of amputees.  Our aim is to provide practical information guidance and support to assist people to ‘do more with less’.  The services we provide include:

1. Providing Information, Advice & Support
   Publishing a quarterly newsletter with information on a wide range of issues affecting amputees from practical handy hints on health issues of concern eg. From skin care to information on services available in the community and more. Our website to brings you the latest easily accessible, information on a wide range of topics. Providing ‘A New Challenge’ Booklet written by amputees for amputees. Providing ‘Purpose’ a national magazine for amputees.
2. Assisting to improve rehabilitation by: Providing a visiting service which, where possible, matches age, gender and level of amputation with the person being visited. For new amputees this can be a motivating experience seeing someone in a similar situation who is fit healthy and in many cases working full time.
3. Education of Health Professionals: Providing education sessions for Health Professionals particularly Physiotherapists and Social Workers to assist them to support amputees to realise their full potential.
4. Advocating on behalf of amputees to ensure that our voice is heard at the highest level of service provision. The Amputees Federation has an amputee representative on the Artificial Limb Board which provides prosthetic services throughout NZ.
